Project Manager (PPC)

Every machine that leaves Nandan GSE is built to a customer's order, which means the schedule is never the same twice. The Project Manager (PPC) is the person who holds that schedule together - who knows what is on the shop floor, what is waiting on a drawing or a purchase, and what has to ship this month. If you like production planning and control work where you can walk to the design table and the welding bay on the same morning, this role at our Khalapur works is built for that.

What you will do

• Plan and release production schedules for ground support equipment and customised material handling equipment built to customer order
• Break customer orders into work plans across design, purchase, production, quality and service, and keep every stage pointed at the promised delivery date
• Track daily progress on the shop floor against plan, spot the jobs that are slipping and get them back on track
• Run planning on Genie, our in-house software, and keep the data in it accurate enough that others can act on it
• Coordinate with purchase so that material, bought-outs and fabrication inputs reach production before the operation needs them
• Work with quality and service so that inspection and despatch are planned, not improvised at the end
• Report order status, load and bottlenecks to management in a form that can be acted on
• Close the loop after delivery - what the plan assumed, what actually happened, and what the next similar job should assume

What you bring

• BE / B.Tech as a minimum qualification
• 3 to 7 years of experience in production planning and control, project planning or project management in an engineering manufacturing or fabrication environment
• The ability to read engineering drawings and bills of material and translate them into a sequence of shop floor work
• Comfort with planning on software and with keeping records clean rather than from memory
• The temperament to coordinate across design, purchase, production, quality and service without losing the delivery date
• Clear written and spoken communication for schedules, status and escalation
• Willingness to work from the Khalapur (Raigad) works full time

• Salary: Rs 25,000 to Rs 40,000 a month
